o14 ★ PHILOSOPHIZING

It's amazing how, one day everyone can be going on about... uh... female... body parts... and one day people can be talking about morals and choices, and going home.

Whatever happens, I just hope there's a way for everyone to get what they want- whether it's a way home, or a life here. There's no reason why we have to fight each other in order for that to happen, right? I know I don't want this to become a battle. I've got one of those waiting for me at home already.

[ FILTERED TO OLIVIER ]

Olivier? I have those nails you asked for. Did you want to meet somewhere?

Yeah. Apparently, they make you read books and then analyze the shit out of it. We did reports back at the school I went to at home, but it was more useful than this crap.

...Hey, I liked the ones back home. I thought they were fun, getting to analyze spells and old runes... [sigh]

[She notices Jolt waving and stands to greet him properly with a handshake. It's a sign of respect and gratitude, and she's very careful to present a good face to Mayfield residents.]

It's a shame; this park is almost nice. They had to ruin it with that piece of junk. [Meaning the statue.]

Well, adults tell kids a ton of made-up things, thinking we're not smart enough to discern what's real or false. It's merely a counter-measure.

[identity profile] spunky-explorer.livejournal.com 2010-03-31 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. . .

Well.

Can you prove it anyway?
thenorthernwall: (Blithely.)

[She catches the awkwardness, but doesn't mention anything, It's actually not important. In the future, she'll simply not offer it. She's also not used to this "being social" thing, really, so she hesitates before sitting down on the bench again. It is kind of relaxing to be out there; it's no Briggs, but at least there's some space that isn't filled by cookie-cutter housing. In fact, if she quints, it sort of looks like the military block in Central.]

How long have you been here?

[identity profile] spunky-explorer.livejournal.com 2010-03-31 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
It can do that-? [Interrupts herself]

What am I saying. If it could steal people from different worlds and time periods, it could probably do that too.

Was it tough to suddenly change bodies like that?
thenorthernwall: (Blank stare.)

[She's gone back to glaring at the statue. Maybe she will spontaneously develop LASER EYES or something. Or be gifted with a rocket launcher from heaven...]

Does it get less irritating?

[She looks slightly annoyed, but...] Fullmetal didn't tell me about that. Then again, I've only been here for a few weeks. Mostly, I've kept my head down and done some investigating.

[identity profile] followyouthere.livejournal.com 2010-03-31 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
I'm alright at it. I just like the smell of old books, is all.
thenorthernwall: (Maybe she's born with it.)

Wait. It made it seem they'd been here ten years? I don't know what I thought you meant, but it wasn't that. [NOW she looks horrified.]

I haven't found out much. I've scouted locations, acquired a map, done some basic strategic planning for various offensive and defensive maneuvers. It'll be difficult to stage anything large-scale, though. That's the worst thing I've learned.

And... I've started remodeling my kitchen.
