Hey, I think I-- [ There's a horrid noise, followed by a burst of static over the phone and the line suddenly goes dead. ]

[ Meanwhile, the lights in the living room at 1249 Williams Road can be seen getting brighter, and brighter, and brighter. The TV kicks on and gets louder, and louder. Sparks start pouring out of outlets and lightbulbs begin to burst.

And here comes Jolt, making a mad dash out the front door, covering his head as the porch light erupts in a shower of sparks and broken glass. He carefully takes up position in the middle of the lawn- staying as far from both the house and the power-lines overhead as he can. ]

((ooc; Jolt's regained his ability to absorb electricity from outside sources- only now outside sources are absorbing it from him. All interactions will have to be actionspam since he can't go back inside or get near a phone.))

[Having not yet received his mail, it takes him the usual amount of time to get over to the house. And when he does, he's out of breath. He didn't bother shouting into the phone, because, really. What would that have done.]

[ Don't mind Jolt. He's just in the yard, staring at what's left of the porch light. He only caused minimal damage in the living room, thankfully. ]

[ ...Okay. Jolt's intact. Nothing's falling off of him... nothing's attacking him. He walks up behind him, finally catching sight of the broken light.]

Um... What... was that all about?

[He glances from the broken light, down to Jolt. And back.]

Have we developed a hatred of lightbulbs now?

What? No! Look. [ he takes a few steps towards the living room window, and whatever lights are left start getting brighter- one lightbulb blows before he can step back ]

[He just... stares. That's not normal. He tries it himself--nothing happens.]

Not... yet? Maybe? I was on my way to look, and then the phone rang.

I think... one of my abilities got turned around somehow. This didn't start happening until I opened the mail.

I'm supposed to be able to absorb power, Sideswipe. I can sense it just fine, but every time I get too close to something, it just starts going haywire.

Uh, no. [ shrug ] Never really had a reason to use it.

... Frankly, I'd rather not do any more tests on the living room.

[ looks at where he's pointing ] Oh no. No no no. I am not gonna fry the whole town. No way.

At best? The whole street loses power. At worst, the whole town goes. Remember what happened the last time we had a power outage?
